Greeting coach, The NPL news wishes to have a short interview with you.
We will try not to take up too much of your time.
1) What is your occupation (Or how do you afford to play in this league) Medical biller for a group of emergency physicians
2) Are you married? And if so what is your Wife's name? Sharon
3) Do you have children? If so what are their names? List birthdates if you wish! Allison born 07/02/1997
4) Oakland Oakland just missed the playoffs with a loss in week 16, how do you think your team will respond this season? With another camp under the belts of QB Michael Sandford and LB Bo Thomas the leaders of both offensive and defensive squads are really ready to take the team to the next level. I’d expect a playoff birth this season and if we can keep the mistakes to a minimum consistently we can beat any team on any day, even in the championship game!
5) Are there any new player(s) on the team this season that you are really excited about?
We’ve added Win
Iverson and Bernie Newman to really solidify the defense. Both come
from proven defensive systems (Bangor and Russian respectively) and both
will have an impact on the field and in the locker room. We added a
good up and coming offensive lineman from the draft in David Youngblood
and he’ll impact the future of the club. Also, we have some feelers out
there to acquire some quality players before the season.
6) Were their any players lost this season that you wish you could have kept? We lost some scout team players to free agency and we wish them well on their new teams. We didn’t have any significant free agent losses this off-season but the old man Pat Asplund almost retired. We coaxed him back to give sophomore Dixon Nelson some competition for the punting job.
7) What would you consider to be the strongest part of your roster? (I.E. OL, DL, etc) I think our Linebacker corps are very solid and our defensive backfield is underrated. We did lead the league in interceptions last season and we’ve only gotten better with the additions of Newman and Iverson.
8) How would you describe the Carolina brand of football? (Smash Mouth, West Coast, etc.) We don’t turn the ball over on offense and complete a high percentage of passes. Lewis Steele is as solid a back as there is and we wouldn’t be on the eve of a terrific season without him behind Sandford. The offensive line gets him the holes he needs and that’s all anyone can ask.
9) Please predict the following. a) Northeast Champion: Oakland b) Southeast Champion: Area51 c) Northwest Champion: Bangor d) Southwest Champion: Hong Kong e) East conference Champs Oakland f) West Conference Champs Hong Kong g) League Champs Oakland 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) |
