Mars
Mars' 2010 Rookie Class:
1 - 15 LB Nat Hines
Hines is already the 2nd
smartest LB on the team, and could very well start with a good camp.
Anytime you grab a potential starter, you have made a good choice.
3 - 46 OG Darnel Hillier
Hillier needs a little work,
but he isn't bad.
3 - 48 QB Sean Hollowell
This pick is a disaster waiting
to happen, a very poor spot to take such a gamble. Then again if
he can learn to read a defense, look out.
5 - 83 G Nate Landry
Definitely not the player
hillier is, but he has an outside chance.
Overall Grade: B-
Hines looks like A
material, but Hollowell looks like a bust, if the QB somehow has a
good camp, this grade could change dramatically.
Rookies to Watch:
LB Hines
RENO
Reno's 2010 Rookie Class:
1 - 9 DE Corey Smith
Reno just improved their pass
rush from the outside quite a bit, but could have used a little more
beef in the middle of their line, still Smith should be good for years.
2 - 27 OC D. Cox
With a decent camp Cox
could start at guard or center for this team, a win win proposition.
2 - 35 QB Marco Taylor
Taylor may never be a starter,
but he could be the best backup QB Reno has had in years.
3 - 45 LB Jason Pennington
Pennington should get a spot on
the roster, and he's already one of Reno's strongest LBs. With
decent camps he could climb the depth charts quickly.
4 - 63 WR Junior Cobb
With a team full of WRs with no
endurance, Cobb has a chance to stick.
5 - 81 HB Malik London
Unless London flatlines in
camp, he should stick. If he has a good camp, Coach C. may
even smile.
6 - 99 Sa D. Vaughn
Vaughn has a ways to go.
7 - 117 QB Mark
Cebelak
Little C. may make the team
as the clipboard holder.
Overall Grade: A
Several very good picks in
this draft make this a solid effort by Reno.
Rookies to Watch:
DE Smith, C Cox, LB
Pennington, Wr Cobb, HB London
RUSSIA
Russia's 2010 Rookie Class:
3 - 38 Sa Kenton Tapeh
With a good camp, Tapeh could
alleviate some age problems in Russia's defensive backfield.
3 - 40 TE Chris Branch
Branch is a much better blocker
than I thought he was, this could be a real steal for the Kodiak.
3 - 44 OT Siaka Thomas
With some strength improvement
in camp, Thomas may very well end up a starting OL for this team in the
future.
3 - 47 OT Derrick Shancoe
Finally the Russians seemed to
have found a couple guys in Shancoe and Thomas to improve their guard
situation.
3 - 49 TE Rashaun
Porch
Porch is a better blocker
than Branch, but doesn't possess the pass receiving skills of
Branch.
4 - 60 DE Tony Bentley
Bentley has a long way to go,
and is probably looking at Expanded roster.
4 - 61 WR Greg Jones
With a boatload of 1st round
picks in front of him, Jones will only make this roster with A) a great
camp, and B) Russia decides to keep 6 receivers.
4 - 62 FB Terry Hilliard
I'd have to say if Hilliard
makes the team it's at HB, he's not much of a fullback.
5 - 80 CB Erik Franco
It's unlikely Franco makes it
past pre season
6 - 98 QB Marlus Gallery
Gallery might very well have
potential.
7 - 116 HB Vernon Davidson
This guy gets tired coming out
of the huddle. The Russians could keep him around to return kicks,
but then again his hands are not that good.
Overall Grade: B
With no 1st or 2nd rounders
this season, Russia really had no real impact player in this draft,
but they did have some solid ones, and only took chances late.
Rookies to Watch:
S Tapeh, TE Branch, OT
Thomas, OT Shancoe, WR Jones
OAKLAND
Oakland's 2010 Rookie Class:
1 - 4 HB Rock Green
Suddenly Oakland looks like
they have a deep young backfield for years to come.
1 - 18 HB J. Annable
Could there be a trade in
Oakland's future? One of these backs is going to lose out the
chance to play and might not be happy sitting around, but Oakland must
feel pretty good about having both.
2 - 22 Sa Jujuan Bua
look for Bua to make an impact
in the not so distant future.
4 - 58 CB Antonio Blazek
Blazek will be a real
steal in this draft if he has a good camp.
6 - 92 DE Kevin
Collins
To slow and to weak to
make a difference, it would take a monster cmap for him to stick.
6 - 94 DE PJ Johnson
Same as Collins above
6 - 102 QB Dunta
Schell
Schell needs to work on
his foot speed and his discipline, but he has a chance.
6 - 104 P John
Locklear
Locklear looks like an
almost carbon copy of the current punter, but he's a year younger,
and quicker, I say he makes the team.
7 - 112 LB Jimmy Moore
Moore looks to have
little chance to make this young, deep LB corps.
Overall Grade: A-
The first 4 picks are
really good the last 5 are not, but then again they are 6th and 7th
rounders.
Rookies to Watch:
HB Green, HB Annable, S Bua,
CB Blazek
INDIANAPOLIS
Indianapolis's 2010 Rookie Class:
2 - 32 DE Sammie Ross
If this guy can work on his
conditioning and spd he could be a real player in the future. As
it is he's a decent young DE 4.
3 - 39 HB Ahmad Rivers
Rivers is fast and in great
shape, that by itself lends itself to believe that he'll stick on this
franchise, more importantly he is young.
3 - 50 OG T. Hoover
Hoover is not fast, but
he's strong and has decent AG. A good start for a guard.
4 - 66 Sa Drew Smoker
Smoker has a ways to go to be a
good addition to this team, but luckily need is not dire for Indy at
this position.
4 - 68 WR Darryl Giugliano
Goog looks like he'll need
3 seasons at least to become a solid contributor (Unless he
flatlines in camp) can the Speed be that patient?
5 - 86 LB Mathias
Hendry
Another young player that
could have potential down the road.
7 - 109 OT Derek
Schires
Schires needs EN, Schires
Needs sp, Schires needs little else. great pickup in the 7th.
7 - 122 OT Greg Warren
Warren needs strength
training and tons of conditioning, who knows.
Overall Grade: B-
No real impact players at
first glance, however several guys that could A) make the team, and
B) make an impact down the road.
Rookies to Watch:
HB Ahmad Rivers
HOUSTON
Houston's 2010 Rookie Class:
1 - 6 CB Johnnie Bankston
Bankston will be a great corner
for this franchise for a long time.
2 - 24 S Sean Furrer
Furrer has all the natural
skills, but his low EN causes serious reflection.
3 - 42 HB Kenechi Johnson
IMO Johnson is 1st round talent
taken in the 3rd round, just a great pickup.
4 - 57 WR Greg Whittington
Whit doesn't have to come in
and produce right away, which is a good thing, but down the road with
solid camps he will be much needed.
5 - 78 DT Shaun Greving
Greving may have trouble making
this team, but if he does he may have some staying power.
6 - 96 K Robert Cooper
Cooper already has an accuracy
advantage over Dingle, but his Leg strength must improve if he is going
to challenge.
7 - 114 LB Stacy Nath
Nath has the speed to
play lb in this league, but can he tackle anyone.
Overall Grade: B+
this is an up and down
roller coaster ride of a draft, I absolutely love CB Bankston, and
HB Johnson, those two guys will be big time impact players.
the rest could be hit or miss, if a couple hit then move this draft
up to the A's.
Rookies to Watch:
CB Bankston, HB Johnson
AREA
51
Area 51's 2010 Rookie Class:
1 - 1 WR M. Hall
Hall is a great fit for the
Aliens vertical attack, but was he even the best WR in this draft?
5 - 75 LB Walter
Darilek
A physically imposing specimen,
but can he get to the ball carrier in time?
6 - 108 OC
Lamount Partridge
Partirdge has all the promise
of a pass blocking OL, but can he fulfill this promise.
7 - 126 QB Daminan
Rothlisberg
Preseason QB
Overall Grade: C
Just not much here other
than Hall
Rookies to Watch:
WR Hall
LOCH NESS
Loch Ness' 2010 Rookie Class:
3 - 37 LB Cecil Thornton
On a team deep with
Linebackers, Thornton could deliver the goods and make this teams roster
anyway.
5 - 84 Sa Troyce Shoate
Shoate is way behind the other
current roster holders on this squad, with a good camp he might even
make a dent on the Expanded Roster.
5 - 87 DT Landon Ferguson
Ferguson will probably be
getting tired quite often pushing Grocery carts for Ukrops
7 - 120 WR Hardy Sanders
While Sanders possesses great
hands, he'll have to show he can improve his quickness in a hurry.
Overall Grade: C-
I like the Thornton pick
enough to grade this draft, the other 3 look expendable.
Rookies to Watch:
LB Thornton
CAROLINA
Dallas's 2010 Rookie Class:
1 - 11 Sa Peter Leckey
Leckey needs another couple
camps, but he could be a dependable player for Carolina
2 - 30 Sa C. Arndt
Arndt looks to be a
better pick than Lecky a little short on speed at the moment though.
2 - 26 OT Gilbert
Chicaverini
Chiaverini is first round
talent taken in the 2nd round, although he needs to work on
conditioning he's already Carolina's most complete OT.
2 - 29 DE Perry
Francis
Francis is not quick, or
strong, but he should make the roster regardless.
4 - 69 Sa Thomas
Traylor
Looks like Carolina went
to the Safety Well once to often.
5 - 90 OT Randy
Daniels
Daniels did not make it
to camp for Carolina, but he is on a roster and looks solid.
7 - 125 LB C. Stewart
With 10 LBs on the
roster, Stewart will make this team on name alone.
Overall Grade: B+
The first three picks
look solid, with Chiaverini being 1st round talent in the 2nd round.
Rookies to Watch:
S Leckey, S, Arndt, OT
Chiaverini
NEW
JERSEY
New Jersey's 2010 Rookie Class:
1 - 7 OT Jamie Hamilton
While I thought Jersey might
have been better served picking up a skill player on Defense with this
pick, there is no denying that Hamilton is a Stud ol, and should start
on opening day.
1 - 8 QB Bobby Williams
Williams is the Quarterback of
the future, and that future could be as early as next season.
3 - 43 P Mike Peterman
Peterman is a very good
Punter, and should help the team in the long run, but LB screams at
me here.
5 - 79 Sa Roderick
Missurelli
Missurelli needs a couple
camps, but he could really help this aging defensive backfield.
Very good quality pick.
6 - 97 LB Frank Reed
Reed will make the team,
heck he may well start. Whether that points to him being a
very talented LB, or points to NJ's lack of talent at the position
is the question.
7 - 115 LB Tom Davis
Davis makes the team and
already has some advantages over veteran Gruber.
Overall Grade: A
The first two picks are
great for this team, the rest show good potential.
Rookies to Watch:
Ot Hamilton, QB Williams,
P Peterman, S Misurelli, LB Reed, LB Davis
BANGOR
Bangor's 2010 Rookie Class:
1 - 13 WR Jimmy Jones
Bangor brought much needed
youth, and more importantly much needed talent to this team.
2 - 21 DT Julian Duncan
DT Duncan could easily push 1
year vet Na out of the roster.
5 - 85 HB A. Leadbetter
Leadbetter looks like a
valuable backup in the future.
6 - 103 QB Tommy Manning
This could very well be the
best QB Bangor has ever drafted, why he might even make the Practice
Squad.
7 - 121 OC Sean Ross
I'd have to say that Ross has a
chance of making a dent in the lineup, but not much of one, more like
one of those pinhole dents.
Overall Grade: A-
I love the pick of WR
Jones, he adds more ammunition to a loaded team. DT Duncan has
some upsides to.
Rookies to Watch:
WR Jones, DT Duncan (QB
Manning in preseason)
PITTSBURGH
Pittsburgh's 2010 Rookie Class:
1 - 2 QB B. Collins
Collins looks to have a firm
grasp on being the next Ravens QB, that might even happen this year if
much maligned QB Eley has another slow start.
1 - 5 CB Jason Regenthall
The D coordinator told Head
Coach Ostrowski to take a CB and call me in the morning, well his
worries about the Ravens DBs went way quicker BC Powder gets rid of
headaches.
2 - 56 S Dave Anderson
Anderson could be a player with
proper coaching, and growth as a player.
7 - 74 TE Dallas Babin
The biggest key to Babin or any
of these TEs sticking will be growth in EN.
7 - 110 TE Chris Hoover
Same as above
Overall Grade: A
With two future hall of
famers, how could I grade this draft any less.
Rookies to Watch:
QB Collins, CB Regenthall
CHARLOTTE
Charlotte's 2010 Rookie Class:
2 - 23 WR Deryck Smith
Smith might not be an elite WR,
but he'll be solid for a long time. The good news is Charlotte has
a 1st round pick next season.
2 - 33 OT Max Randall
Wow, Randall is
good...............
3 - 41 Sa Chad Dehoney
1 year pro Wesley won't have to
look over his should for long, as Dehoney passes him in the 40
4 - 59 C Anthony
Jones
The bad new is Jones has some
growing to do, the good news he's backing up the best C in the league.
4 - 72 DE Guss Del Greco
Maybe his quickness keeps him
on the team.
5 - 77 CB Andre Lewis
With Age at the top, Lewis is
not a bad prospect, trouble is can Charlotte keep both rookie corners.
5 - 82 LB Jerricho Canidate
Canidate should stick, like a
dumpling sticking to your rib, you want to get rid of it, but you just
can't.
6 - 95 HB Yardon Roberson
Time for Charlotte to invest in
a 1st round back, if they plan to keep using a power running game.
But really Yardon ain't bad for a 6th rounder.
7 - 113 CB D. Sixberry
My bet is the coach finds
a way to keep this guy.
Overall Grade: B+
No first hurt the team, but
they made some good grabs regardless.
Rookies to Watch:
Wr Smyth, OT Randall
CHICAGO
Chicago's 2010 Rookie Class:
1 - 10 LB Ernest Mawae
The coach makes the pick, then
frets about what a bad choice it is. Give me a break. He and
Beamon are going to be a tough tandem.
2 - 28 OT Marquise Talanoa
Talanoa is a future star.
Only his conditioning keeps him from being a star now.
2 - 36 DT Demorio Liggin
The Coach likes his DT slow, but how slow is slow? He must
like em weak too. Still Liggin may stick just because I panned
him.
3 - 51 K Derrick Miller
Miller better start or I will really lay into Chicago for taking a
kicker in the 3rd round.
6 - 100 LB Tory Maddox
8 linebackers, hmm, Maddox is probably looking at practice squad.
7 - 118 WR Eric Thomas
Bender is gone, Thomas might be able to carry his shoes to and from
the locker room if he doesn't get tired.
Overall Grade: B+
DT Liggin combined with
picking a kicker at #51 causes this draft to lose steam.
Rookies to Watch:
LB Mawae, OT Talanoa, K
Miller
HONG
KONG
Hong Kong's 2010 Rookie Class:
1 - 17 DT Isaac Roberson
Roberson looks to have a
future, but there were several other plays that HK should have grabbed
first.
2 - 25 FB Tommie de Groh
de Groh might very well be the
next Tinsley, he should have gone in the first.
3 - 53 WR M. Etchells
While Etchells has lots of
growing to do, he is solid and can only help this franchise.
4 - 67 HB Jon Carey
Carey may make the roster just
because HK likes tons of HBs
4 - 71 CB Mark Loomis
With 2 loomis' on the team, how
could HK go wrong. Seriously though this guy has a lot of growing
to go.
5 - 76 CB Josh Chalenski
Chalenski is fast, but tires
easily.
5 - 89 K Mike Berrian
Berrin looks to be a great
pickup, but can he get Lachey off the field?
6 - 93 LB M. Fye
OK so Fye was my friend in XFL, I had to take him, now he'll
languish in ER.
7 - 111 OT Joey Covington
If Covington can grow his EN, he'll be well on his way to a quality
backup position.
Overall Grade: B
No real player makes a big
splash on this team, none look to seriously challenge for any time
this season.
Rookies to Watch:
DT Roberson, FB de Groh, WR
Etchells
Camelot
Camelot's 2010 Rookie Class:
1 - 16 TE Jerald Johnson
Camelot's Johnson is big,
strong, fast, with great endurance, what more could you ask for?
2 - 34 C Madieu Boose
With a young talented OL, I
don't know where Boose fits in, he's a good player, but, maybe DL, LB,
or DB would have made more since.
3 - 52 OT Isaac Smith
Camelot is trying hard to keep
the Hoovers from grabbing all the OL talent, Smith is talented, but did
they need him?
4 - 70 WR George Edwards
Camelot needs youth and talent
at WR, but George doesn't look like the answer, at least not before
camp.
5 - 88 QB Ernest Hall
Hall may make the team if
Camelot chooses to keep 3.
6 - 106 FB CJ Vilma
Vilma has lots of growing to
do, the good news for him is Cam is showing their age at fb.
7 - 124 QB Mark Detmer
Already gone, not even forgotten.
Overall Grade: B
Solid but not spectacular,
Johnson is definitely the big draw here.
Rookies to Watch:
TE Johnson, C Boose, OT
Smith
TAIWAN
Seattle's 2010 Rookie Class:
1 - 12 OG Karon Wheat
Instant Starter, although I
could probably start for Taiwan on the line, but Wheat is the real deal.
1 - 14 HB Kendrick Udeze
Udeze looks to have a solid
future, but he'll have to wait several years before he can challenge
Didier if ever.
2 - 30 LB Willie Pope
Taiwan is preaching a change,
and Pope looks set to deliver the sermon.
3 - 54 OT Chad Brownlow
Brownlow is decent talent.
Not a bad pickup in the third. Chad has already signed on to do a
postgame show entitled "The Downlow with Brownlow"
4 - 55 Sa Justin Scobee
Scobee looks to be spending a
lot of time counting splinters.
5 - 73 P Jeremy Enis
This Punter looks good, and he
was picked at the right time.
6 - 91 K Damonte Darling
Didn't even get to stay on the
team for 1 sec, a draft and cut.
Overall Grade: A
Solid pickups through
much of the draft.
Rookies to Watch:
OG Wheat, HB Udeze, Lb
Pope, Ot Brownlow, P Enis
TENNESSEE
Tennessee's 2010 Rookie Class:
1 - 3 WR Robert Snee
There is no questioning Snee
has talent, but will he ever justify being the #3 pick in the draft, I
have my doubts, now Tenn can prove me wrong.
2 - 19 DT Carlos Rogers
Rogers is talented and went
about where he should.
2 - 21 LB Al Chillar
Chillar is fast, but he has
trouble running into the wind.
4 - 65 CB Craig Kendall
Kendall is the slowest CB on
the squad, but he is also the youngest, he has a chance to be good.
6 - 101 OT Robert Strait
Needs to get straight into the
weight room.
6 - 105 DT Frank Lord
Good .... he's slow and
not very quick Doesn't seem to fit Tennessee style very well.
7 - 119 QB Robert Fischer
Fischer looks like an excellent clip board carrier.
7 - 123 FB R. Hunley
hehe
Overall Grade: B
If Snee can deliver the
goods this draft class moves up to A.
Rookies to Watch:
WR Snee, DT Rogers, LB
Chillar, CB Kendall
