Game plans and Coaching Profiles

FBPro '98 allows you to create playbooks and control play calling during games using its Game Plan and Coaching Profile features. Coaching Profiles should include the game plans (Just have the appropriate game plan open when saving your coaching profile the game will ask you whether you want to include your game plan, and you tell it yes). Your Coaching Profile should have the same name each week. This name will be used as a default for your team. If you do not name your files correctly, you can be stocked.

Only your Coaching Profile and Game Plan should be sent for each game, since everyone will already have the full play database.

Game Plans

Offense

Offensive game plans must contain at least 28 unique offensive plays. You must use at least 7 play categories, such as run right or pass short left. Each of these categories must contain a minimum of 4 unique plays. Timing passes may account for no more than 1/4 of the pass plays used overall in a PPP, and only one timing pass is allowed per category.

Defense

Defensive game plans must contain at least 16 unique plays. You must use at least 4 play categories, such as run middle or pass short. Each of these categories must contain a minimum of 4 unique plays.

Game Plans hold up to 64 plays, and you may use the full compliment if you like, as long as you have met the minimum parameters outlined above.

Plays must be loaded from the proper directory (NPL/Play database). Plays that do not refer to this directory will not be found.

Coaching Profiles

Coaching profiles must refer to play categories. They may not call individual plays (work from "Play Types" under the "Display..." button).

All play categories used within your game plan must be able to be called. Additionally, profiles that rely too heavily on a small number of categories will be subject to review as illegal.

Profiles should be saved to your team’s subfolder in the PPP folder.

Your profiles will not become part of the play database so your play calling will remain secret, although your plays themselves will be available to the full league.
